Rache M. Simmons, MD, is the Chief of Breast Surgery and is the Anne and Edwin Weiskopf Professor of Surgical Oncology and the Medical Director of Clinical Trials at Weill Cornell Medical College. She is an internationally-renowned researcher, teacher and breast cancer surgeon recognized for her numerous innovations and contributions in the field of minimally invasive breast cancer surgery. A former president of the American Society of Breast Surgeons and widely published in peer-reviewed journals, Dr. Simmons is currently running a national, multicenter trial on freezing probe ablative therapy for breast cancer, which utilizes a state-of-the-art technology that eliminates the need for surgery.
