Reconstructive Surgery
The goals of reconstructive surgery are to reshape abnormal structures of the body, improve function, and create a more normal appearance for the patient. Body Contouring Following Weight-Loss Surgery
Patients who have experienced significant weight loss following bariatric surgery-including gastric bypass, gastric banding, or other procedures-typically have areas of undesirable excess skin, particularly in the abdomen, breasts, arms and thighs. Craniofacial Surgery
Our craniofacial and cleft team is an interdisciplinary group of healthcare professionals dedicated to the care of infants, children and adolescents with malformations of the face, mouth, ears, and skull, as well as children requiring reconstructive surgery following trauma, burns and cancer.
Our plastic and craniofacial surgeons have expertise in the reconstruction of cleft lip and palate, ear malformations, facial asymmetry, skull malformations and premature closure of skull bones (craniosynostosis). Other members of the craniofacial team include:
- pediatric neurosurgeons who address birth defects affecting the brain, skull and spine
- ocuplastic surgeons who specialize in the reconstruction of eye structures
- child neurologists who diagnosis and manage neurodevelopmental challenges
- geneticists and genetic counselors
- pediatric dentists who craft specially tailored devices to enhance closure of the gap in a baby's gums and lips prior to surgery
