2009 Ben Park dinner
The 40th Annual Benjamin S. Park Jr., MD, Visting Professor Lectureship and Black-Tie Banquet Dinner were held on Monday, March 16, 2009. This year the Department of Surgery invited 30 year (and earlier) Alumni to share in the festivities held at the Regency Hotel in New York City.
Over 100 faculty, residents and alumni joined together to commemorate Benjamin Park Jr., who was a resident of the surgical education program in 1968, and was killed in Korea serving his country in 1969. It was also an opportunity to celebrate the success of the surgical education program at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center. Alumni from the graduating class of 1979 and earlier were recognized and honored at the Banquet dinner, and the guest speaker, Dr. Stephen Lowry, presented a slide show which highlighted the successful careers of the graduates of NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell's general residency training program.
