Electives
The General Surgery Residency Program provides a 4th year elective experience, Sponsored by the Department of Surgery, to spend 4-6 weeks in an international setting or to obtain 4-6 weeks of additional experience in a specialty of their choice, either at New York Presbyterian Hospital, Wyckoff Heights Medical Center or at another institution. The department pays for resident salary and benefits.
Wyckoff Heights Medical Center
Located in an ethnically diverse residential neighborhood directly on the border of northern Brooklyn and western Queens, Wyckoff Heights Medical Center is a 350-bed teaching hospital. A dedicated staff of 1,800 physicians, nurses and support personnel represent thirty-five distinct languages and cultures.

Under the guidance of Dr. Rao, Chairman of the department, we are able to offer our patients a sense of comfort that they are receiving the best possible medical and surgical care.
