Wound Healing
The healing of wounds caused by trauma, burn, or associated with diabetes represent major points of interest for researchers in the Department of Surgery. Coupled with clinical excellence in plastic and reconstructive surgery, novel tissue-engineering approaches developed by our faculty members and collaborators, perhaps integrated with stem cell or vascular therapies, should have a significant impact on morbidity and enhance the regenerative capacity of wound healing processes.
