Research Highlights
Our physicians play key roles in research studies, including clinical trials, to enhance treatment options for obesity. NewYork-Presbyterian is one of only six centers across the country selected by the National Institutes of Health to take part in a multimillion dollar Bariatric Surgery Clinical Research Consortium, which is conducting a groundbreaking, five-year Longitudinal Assessment of Bariatric Surgery study. A longitudinal study of obese patients who unerwent gastric bypass surgery, which includes monitoring of changes in gene expression and metabolic changes from resulting weight loss over 18 months. - Bariatric Surgery and its Effects on Bone Metabolism
