Residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and General Dentistry

NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center offers four American Dental Association-accredited post-graduate programs: a PGY-1 one-year General Practice Residency; an optional PGY-2 one-year General Practice Residency; a four-year Certificate Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency; and a six-year MD-Integrated Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency with Weill Cornell Medical College. All programs begin on July 1. The PGY-1 General Practice Residency and both Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency Programs participate in PASS and the Match. The PGY-2 General Practice Residency recruits post-Match. For the 2017-2018 academic year we will enroll seven PGY-1 and two PGY-2 General Practice Residents. The Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency will continue to enroll two residents per year, one to the four-year Certificate track and one to the six-year MD-integrated track. Oral and maxillofacial surgery coverage is also provided to NewYork-Presbyterian/ Queens Hospital.

Applicants must be graduates of an American Dental Association or Canadian Dental Association accredited school. House-staff typically live in neighborhood hospital-owned apartments and are registered with the New York State Department of Education by the Division on a yearly basis.
